The Cynwyd Heritage Trail may seem like a stand alone trail, but since the opening of the Manayunk bridge, it connects to numerous trails on the other side of the river. The Trail also connects directly to Laurel Hill West Cemetery, Westminster Cemetery, Bala Cynwyd Playground, Cynwyd Station Park, and City Ave.
And it doesn’t end there! There are plans to extend the Trail from City Ave to the Mann Music Center and down to the Schuylkill Riverfront via the Connelly tract. For more information and project updates, see the Trail News and Future Improvements pages or email info@cynwydtrail.org.

There are five main entrances to the Trail:
Cynwyd Station Park: 321 Conshohocken State Road, Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004
Bala Cynwyd Park: 398 Trevor Lane, Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004
Barmouth Station: 175 East Levering Mill Road, Bala Cynwyd PA 19004 (at the end of E. Levering Mill Rd after crossing Belmont Avenue)
Rock Hill Road: 260 Rock Hill Rd, Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004 (Rock Hill Road & Belmont Avenue, across from CVS parking lot)
Bala Station: 1 Bala Avenue, Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004

Fall Heritage Walk with Jim Mundy
Fall Heritage Walk with Jim Mundy

Cynwyd Station Trailhead (321 Conshohocken State Road, Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004)
Join local historian and trail expert Jim Mundy and explore the history woven into every corner of the trail on this fall Heritage Walk. A 60-year Bala Cynwyd resident and past president of the Friends of the Cynwyd Heritage Trail, Jim will bring the Trail’s past to life with stories of the trains, people, and places that shaped our community.
This event will be at a walking pace along the trail for about 1.5 miles, with flat and lightly elevated areas. Light refreshments will be provided at the midpoint of the walk. Please leave furry friends and young children at home so we can keep our group focused and moving at a steady pace.
Parking is available at the Cynwyd Station Trailhead, but note that the walk ends at the Manayunk Bridge and participants will be responsible for their journey from there.
More about your guide
Jim Mundy is an accomplished historian and recently retired Historian and Art Curator of The Union League of Philadelphia. He has lectured and written on Philadelphia, the Civil War, and architectural history, and has led walking tours throughout the city. A graduate of La Salle University and an alumnus of the Attingham Summer School, Jim has also served in leadership roles with numerous historic preservation organizations, including The Woodlands, the Camp William Penn Museum, and Friends of Laurel Hill Cemetery.
