Membership & Program Associate Job Description
The Friends of the Cynwyd Heritage Trail (FOCHT) seeks a part-time (10 hours per week) Membership & Program Associate. This position will report to the FOCHT Board Chair.
Desired skills and qualifications:
Experience with, or aptitude for, working with a volunteer organization
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Ability to provide stability and well-documented workflow structure in a setting where personnel may change relatively frequently
Experience with, or ability to learn, basic office and membership software, including Google Workplace applications and customer relationship management databases
Responsibilities include:
Tracking members, donations, and sending out membership acknowledgements and appeals using customer relationship management software
Maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the member database by ensuring that all information is kept current and up to date
Providing support to the Board Chair and other officers in preparation for board meetings
Assisting board members with social media, website administration, and newsletter production
Assisting board members with volunteer management, as well as planning and execution of trail-related events
Pay and benefits:
Hourly rate depends on qualifications: range is $20-25/hour, and position does not include any medical or health benefits or paid time off.

Special note:
In a special relationship between FOCHT and the Lower Merion Conservancy, this position will be a part-time member of the Lower Merion Conservancy staff, dedicated to working with FOCHT. This position will work (in person with schedule TBD with occasional weekend hours for some trail events) in the offices of the Lower Merion Conservancy on the grounds of the Barnes Foundation in Merion. The Lower Merion Conservancy protects and enhances our community’s character and quality of life, recognizing that the sustainable management of our environmental and historic resources is inextricably intertwined with both conservation and change.
